Evicting Envy from Your Heart

God has uniquely safe me. God doesn’t make clones. Nobody in history has ever been like me, or will be like me in the future. I am uniquely shaped by God. I am His masterpiece.

“Long ago, even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. His unchanging plan has always been to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ.” EPHESIANS 1:4-5 (NLT)

God made the universe because He wanted a family, and He wanted me to be a part of.

“For we are God’s workmanship, created in Christ Jesus to do good works, which God prepared in advance for us to do.” EPHESIANS 2:10

God has a good work in my life for me to do. God prepared in advance my life. Before I took my first breath, God has prepared my life. The life I am meant to live. I must choose to do God’s will and purpose.

The number barrier that keeps me from doing God’s will, holds me back from God’s mission, causes me to waste my entire life, causes me to miss God’s best in my life – ENVY. When I envy somebody else – I become so fixated with what I don’t have. It’s the greatest barrier, I might probably don’t notice. I am not to envy other people – how they look, what they have, and what they do. It’s wanting what other people have. It’s destructive. Envy is everywhere.

“I see what you have and I want it in myself. I see what you are, and I want to be you.”

1 – It denies my uniqueness. God has uniquely shaped me. God doesn’t make clones. Nobody in history has ever been like me, and will ever be like me in the future. When God made me, He broke the mold. I am His workmanship. “God, you knit me together in my mother’s womb…Your workmanship is marvelous…You watched me as I was formed in the dark of the womb. You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment was laid out before a single day had passed.” PSALM 139:13-16 (NLT) God planned the everyday of my life even before I was born. When I am uniquely shape, I start to become blind of my own uniqueness. Nobody else in the universe will ever be like me. And God made me to be me. If I cannot be me, nobody else will be like me. He made me to be me. I should not try to be somebody else. The root of all envy, and jealousy is inadequacy. Every time I look at somebody else and want to be somebody else, I am insulting God. Envy is an insult God. I am exactly what I meant to be. I am God’s masterpiece. “Who are you, a mere human being, to criticize God? Should the thing that was created say to the one who made it ‘Why have you made me like this?’” ROMANS 9:20 (NLT) Everybody is disabled – emotional, relational, mental, physical, financial, etc. I should not compare. I cannot say somebody else are better because everybody has it’s pain and cause to bear.

2 – Envy divides my attention. I cannot focus on God’s purpose, if I keep on looking at what other people’s lives. I get a divided allegiance, and I don’t get everything done. “No one can serve two masters. Either he will hate the one and love the other, or he will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Money.” MATTHEW 6:24 I cannot, NOT I should not. I have to decide what is my number 1 goal in my life. Anything I put before God is called an idol. “Anyone who lets himself be distracted from the work I plan for him is not fit for the Kingdom of God.” LUKE 9:62 (LB) Everybody else’s plan destructs me from the work God planned for me. Envy is now the number 1 marketing tool. Everything we do is to create envy to everyone. If truth in advertising is really applied in marketing today – it will be called envy and envier. Every people magazine is really envy magazine – do I really need to know about them? Every minute I spend envying somebody else’s life, is every minute wasting my own life. Envy is far more destructing than I could ever imagine.

3 – Envy wastes my time and energy. I am spending more time trying to keep up with this world, than spend my time working on God’s purpose in my life.

I AM CHRIST IN YOU, the hope of Glory. The One who walks beside you, holding you by your hand, is the same One who lives within you. This is a deep, unfathomable mystery. You and I are intertwined in an intimacy involving every fiber of your being. The Light of My Presence shines within you, as well as upon you. I am in you, and you are in Me; therefore, nothing in heaven or on earth can separate you from Me! As you sit quietly in My Presence, your awareness of My Life within you is heightened. This produces the Joy of the Lord, which is your strength. I, the God of hope, fill you with all Joy and Peace as you trust in Me, so that you may bubble over with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.

To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.

“I, the LORD, have called you in righteousness;
I will take hold of your hand. I will keep you and will make you
to be a covenant for the people and a light for the Gentiles.”
ISAIAH 42 : 6

“Do not grieve, for the joy of the LORD is your strength.”

May the God of your hope so fill you with all joy and peace in believing [through the experience of your faith] that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound and be overflowing (bubbling over) with hope.
ROMANS 15 : 13 (AMP)

Perspective Protects Us

Perspective protects us from error. If there was ever a time that Christians need to be grounded in the truth, it is today. We live in a society that rejects absolute truth and accepts every opinion as equally valid.

Pluralism has created a very confused culture. The problem is not that our culture believes nothing but that it believes everything.

God intends for us to have his wisdom and perspective. The result of this will be believers who are ROCK solid: “Then we will no longer be like children, forever changing our minds about what we believe because someone has told us something different or has cleverly lied to us and made the lie sound like the truth.” (Ephesians 4:14 LB)
