“Don’t run up debts, except for the huge debt of love you owe each other”(Romans 13:8 The Message).
The Bible says we should not withhold the repayment of your debts, that we should let no debt remain outstanding. What does that mean? If you are only paying the minimum on your credit card, you are letting a debt remain outstanding. The Bible says to not do that. God is not going to bless that.
You need to set up repayment. You may be thinking that would be hard. Guess what? It is hard! That’s why most people are in debt. If it were easy, everybody would be rich. The fact is that most people do not have the character and the discipline to do what God says to do. First, give 10 percent to God; second, put 10 percent into savings; then, set up a repayment plan.
You say, “Wait a minute. Are you telling me to save before I pay off my debts?” That’s exactly what I’m telling you to do — because if you wait until you get all your debts paid off to start saving or tithing, you will never do it.
You may think you can’t afford it, but the truth is, you can’t afford not to do it God’s way.
HOLD MY HAND, and walk joyously with Me through this day. Together we will savor the pleasures and endure the difficulties it brings. Be on the lookout for everything I have prepared for you: stunning scenery, bracing winds of adventure, cozy nooks for resting when you are weary, and much more. I am your Guide, as well as your constant Companion. I know every step of the journey ahead of you, all the way to heaven. You don’t have to choose between staying close to Me and staying on course. Since I am the Way, staying close to Me is staying on course. As you focus your thoughts on Me, I will guide you carefully along today’s journey. Don’t worry about what is around the next bend. Just concentrate on enjoying My Presence and staying in step with Me.
Jesus answered, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.”

Feel Abandoned, Worship God Anyway
If God never did anything else for you, he would still deserve your continual praise for the rest of your life because of what Jesus did for you on the cross. God’s Son died for you! This is the greatest reason for worship.
Unfortunately, we forget the cruel details of the agonizing sacrifice God made on our behalf. The Son of God was stripped naked, beaten until almost unrecognizable, whipped, scorned and mocked, crowned with thorns, and spit on contemptuously.
Then he was forced to drag a cumbersome cross up a hill, was nailed to it, and was left to die the slow, excruciating torture of death by crucifixion while hecklers stood by and shouted insults, making fun of his pain and challenging his claim to be God.
Next, as Jesus took all of mankind’s sin and guilt on himself, God looked away from that ugly sight, and Jesus cried out in total desperation, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?” Jesus could have saved himself – but then he could not have saved you.
Why did God allow and endure such ghastly, evil mistreatment? Why? So you could be spared from eternity in hell, and so you could share in his glory forever!
Never again should you wonder what you have to be thankful for.
